 Sarah Belden, an artist advisor, curator and dealer. Sarah's career can be summarized in one word: courageous. Sarah left her job at the age of 30.

 SB You are correct. I had, just as many other artists, close my Berlin gallery in 2008 because of the financial crisis. There was a silver lining to all of this, however.




 It allowed me to go across Spain together with my husband, after having been in a long distance relationship. After finishing his Ph.D.




 He was offered a job in Japan at the University of Okayama, so we relocated to Japan in the year 2011. My son was able to start nursery school in Japan shortly after.




 I was able return to full-time work.




 In that moment, I really felt the urgency to return to the world of art. I have always had the desire to curate, work creatively with artists, and continually find new artists.




 Studio visits with new talent This is what I enjoy doing. That's my favorite thing.




 I also needed to make a living. Fortunately, I had all the international experiences I could have. My goal was to make use of my networks and utilize all my experiences to aid me.




 Experience with building an efficient business model that I have the ability to run my business from Japan or any other location. In retrospect, the pandemics




 I've found this new norm to be remote working and WFH extremely helpful.
